Jose Cuevas, 16-Year-Old Harbor City Teen, Dies After Accidental Fall at Sideshow Event in Crockett, CA
Jose Cuevas, a 16-year-old from Harbor City, tragically lost life in the early hours of September 13, 2025, during a sideshow event in Crockett, CA.
Authorities reported that the accident happened around 3:25 a.m. near the Pomona Street on-ramp to westbound I-80 by the Carquinez Bridge.
Jose reportedly climbed over a concrete barrier to get a better view of the event, lost footing, and fell about 75 feet.
California Highway Patrol confirmed that Jose was pronounced dead at the scene and that the fall was believed to be accidental.
The event drew more than 100 vehicles and hundreds of spectators who gathered to watch reckless driving stunts and “donuts.”
Witnesses described a chaotic scene with cars blocking both sides of the intersection and some spectators standing dangerously close to the edge of the overpass.
Local residents expressed grief and concern, with community member Stephen Nash saying the loss “hit especially close to home” and urging caution for young people drawn to such gatherings.
Friends, family, and the Crockett community now mourn Jose’s passing and call for measures to prevent similar tragedies.
